FEMA offers aid programs for Hurricane IKE Recovery
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is offering assistance to individual and families affected by Hurricane Ike in the Greater Houston, Harris County Region.
Assistance for affected individual and families include:
Short-term housing assistance payments for hotels and motels.
Grants for temporary housing for persons displaced by the disaster.
Grants to replace personal property or to make home repairs due to the disaster.
Crisis counseling for persons emotionally affected by the disaster.
Other relief programs: Advisory assistance for legal, veteran benefits and social security matters.

The DHAP program will replace the existing FEMA rental-assistance
program. If FEMA is currently paying your rent, or part of your
rent, it will stop doing so. In its place, the U.S. Department
of Housing & Urban Development will start paying your rent
under the DHAP program.
